Things that I love that Isaiah does & some random thoughts

  • I cannot believe that Isaiah is going to be 7 months old this week!
  • Everything he does is cute and amazes me!
  • He has recently started sweetly laying his head on my shoulder at night after he tells daddy night night, while we are walking to his room. It just melts my heart!
  • If you ask him for kisses, he grins and acts shy :) love it!
  • He's getting close to crawling, super super close! He's constantly up on his hands and knees, but he usually gets nervous and starts to cry for help b/c he has learned that one wrong move and he hits the floor! Smart boy!
  • I'm SO not ready for him to be mobile!
  • Today i stood him up while holding his hands and he just started taking steps(he normally just stands there!)
  • It seems like everything is happening so fast the last few weeks!! yikes!!
  • I think we may have a drummer on our hands! He taps on everything. He has a Little Tikes piano, but he keeps turning it upside down to beat on the back of it :)
  • I need to baby proof like yesterday!
  • I want to start painting again, but have no where to set up at.
  • I want to start learning to sew for Isaiah, but once again, I have no where to set up at.
  • Isaiah has been saying "dadadadadadadadada" for over a month (sometimes when he sees Paul, other times when he's babbling.)
  • Last week he was in his Jumparoo and I was walking around the living room picking up toys and such. After a bit of fussing and me telling him just a minute, I heard "Mmmmmaamamamamamama." :) He only says my name when he's tired of waiting on me, but its so sweet when he does. he's done it a couple times since then.
  • Even at almost 7 months old, I still go into Isaiah's room before I go to bed to make sure he's breathing. Paranoid?
  • I'm still trying to get the hang of being a stay at home mom/housewife. Isaiah is my number one priority all day, but I feel like I should be able to keep a clean house and cook a good meal most days too! Just not happening. usually the clean house part is lacking.
  • In order to keep my house clean,  I should just have company every week, b/c I'm really good at cleaning under pressure :) visitors welcome!
  • Teething totally messes up a good sleeper!
  • I love Paul. Being in Grad School, working and being a hubby and daddy has to be hard. He's pretty much always super busy and doesn't get much sleep, but still makes plenty of time to play with Isaiah and help me out. I'm so thankful for his hard work and love.
  • We need to buy a car, but buying a used car with your hard earned money is so scary(we've already been burned once in the last year!). Our faithful little red car is currently being held together by duct tape though...so it is time!
ok, I'm done, no pics this time b/c my computer is goofy

Isaiah Timothy's Birth Story

Ok, so 6 1/2 months later, lets see how well I can remember how it went down. Don't feel obligated to read this I'm doing it more just so I have it recorded than for anything else. I kept it pretty gender friendly, no gory details.

I was due on September 15th, but that day had come and gone and I was still very pregnant. Each day I got up and went to work so that I could be asked about 100 times, "you still haven't had that baby?!" It got pretty old. After that I told myself that i would never ask a woman that again!! I wanted to continue to work as long as possible so that I would have more time off with my little one after he was here( I didn't know we would later decide for me to quit my job to stay home with Booboo). SO I worked and worked, and went to the doctor ALOT and went home and jogged in the evening and waited. 6 days later I went to work then to the doc(I was at 3 centimeters I think) then home for dinner and a jog, then to bed around midnight. I has pretty much resolved that I would be induced in a couple of days and that was going to be that. Little Isaiah had different plans though.

12:35 am, I woke up IN PAIN. (you know how they say "you'll know when it's real labor?" oh yeah, you'll know alright!) I woke Paul up and told him I just had a strong contraction. I hadn't even gotten the words out it seems when another came. Yep, here we go! Within about 5 minutes my water broke and we began our phone calls(parents, siblings, hospital,) Paul still had to pack a bag, and I had to update my facebook status. Yes I know, pretty goofy, but I knew I wouldn't have a chance to do it again until after the baby came, so I did it. It took us about an 45 minutes to get out of the house and then off we went to the hospital!!!

1:30ish am: arrive at the hospital and walk an ungodly distance to labor and delivery. I mean really....but we made it. We got settled in to triage and waited to get checked. And waited and waited(it was a busy night.) Finally the doctor came in to check to see if my water had in fact broken(I knew, but they still had to do a test) and how much progress I had made. I was at 6. They told me that they were going to admit me and asked if I wanted an epidural. I had planned to wait a while to see how I felt, so that is what I told them and they were like, um you're at 6 this is when you decide how you feel..lol(duh) I had already been in an enormous amount of pain and really hadn't prepared myself to go natural, so I opted for the drugs. I think in my head the scenario where I chose no drugs was one that it didn't really hurt that bad...bahahaha! I'm not bashing natural childbirth in the least, but I'm just saying if you're going to choose it, prepare yourself with some breathing techniques an determination or something other than pure optimism! Anyways, I digress.

3:00ish am: We get into our room and we wait and wait and wait some more to see the doctor again and more importantly for the anesthesiologist!! The doc came, I was at a 7. Then the drugs came....aaahhh. It was all really happening so very fast. Paul and I just kept looking at each other basically extremely thrilled and terrified that we were about to be parents. That we were about to have this little(awesome) person who was completely dependent on us for the next 18 years(at least.) It was all pretty surreal, but there was a sweet peace there too. We knew that God was in control and that there were lots of prayers going up.

4:00ish am:  Relief from most of the pain. One leg was WAY more numb than the other, It felt really weird. Paul and I both sneaked in a couple hours of sleep.

7:00 am: My doctor came in around 7 to check on the progress....I was at a 10! She said, we'll get set up to start pushing and Paul and I both said "now?" LOL It really did all happen so fast. My sister had hopped the first flight to New Orleans to try to be here before he was born, but once again Isaiah had other plans. I had had mixed feelings about who I wanted in the delivery room (just Paul, Paul and Cassie, Mom and Paul and Cassie.) When it came down to it, it wasn't my choice at all. Paul did great. He was super supportive and he's so tender hearted. It was a great experience. Though it would have been great to have my sis and/or mom there too, I wouldn't change a thing. It was a sweet time for us.

8:09 am: WELCOME TO THE WORLD ISAIAH TIMOTHY HANSON!!! I started pushing at 7:35 am and Isaiah was here about 30 minutes later. He was simply beautiful. The first seconds of his life were spent on my chest with his daddy right by our side. P.R.I.C.E.L.E.S.S!! We are super blessed with a healthy baby boy. 8lb 3oz, 20 inches long.

Isaiah's first visitors were Aaron and Nichole Kinard, some really awesome friends of ours down here. Then within a few hours, my sis, my mom and Paul's mom were all here to share in the joy of our new arrival. What a sweet time it was. Everything went smoothly at the hospital. It was a learning experience and a pretty emotional time, but it is time that we will cherish forever.

he had his thumb in his mouth within seconds of being born! SO cute!
 Our happy little family :)
